High Integrity Carbon Credits
High-Impact Carbon Offsets for Your Sustainability Goals
At Deki, we believe that real climate action starts with communities. That’s why we’re excited to offer 3,670 certified cookstove carbon credits, in partnership with Carbon Kind and validated under VERRA, that not only help offset emissions but also create lasting, positive change in West Africa.
In 2023, we built our own cookstove workshop in rural Togo, where we manufacture clean, safe, and fuel-efficient cookstoves that are deployed directly to communities in need. By employing, manufacturing, and distributing locally, we drive real community-led development and stimulate the local economy throughout the supply chain.
Why Choose Deki’s Carbon Credits?
Our cookstove project is designed to reduce emissions while simultaneously improving the lives of families in Togo. These cookstoves have a significant environmental and social impact:
Reduce CO₂ emissions by supporting cleaner cooking solutions.
Improve health outcomes by reducing indoor air pollution, a leading cause of respiratory illness.
Protect forests by reducing firewood consumption and deforestation, preserving critical ecosystems.
Empower women & communities by creating more time and financial resources for families.
Each fuel-efficient cookstove reduces daily household wood consumption by over 50% due to improved thermal efficiency. This cuts down on the time families spend gathering wood and reduces harmful emissions from traditional cooking methods. The time saved can be redirected towards income-generating activities and education.
As a charity, all profits from the sale of these carbon credits are reinvested into community-led projects in Togo, empowering local communities to build resilience and drive sustainable change.
In addition to helping offset emissions, your purchase supports 8 Sustainable Development Goals.
All 8 SDGs have been verified with SDVista and have ongoing monitoring plans.
The Impact of Our Cookstoves:
Locally manufactured: 100% of our cookstoves are produced in Togo, creating jobs and stimulating the local economy.
Empowering communities: By cutting down on cooking time and reducing trips to fetch firewood, these cookstoves create new opportunities for income generation and education.
Improved efficiency: Each cookstove reduces wood consumption by over 50%, offering both economic savings and environmental benefits.
